TDS Player of the Year: Jasmine Aikey

From day one, a historic Stanford attack dominated college soccer, led by Jasmine Aikey, the TDS Women’s Player of the Year. On opening night, the senior forward scored twice in just 45 minutes to defeat San Francisco 7-0. From that point, the 5-foot-10 force of nature did not look back, dominating one opponent after another with an absurd highlight reel of ambidextrous finishes, leaping headers, curling free kicks, and a world-class bicycle kick.

In all, Aikey has recorded 20 goals and 11 assists to guide the Cardinal to a third consecutive College Cup berth, while failing to register on the scoresheet in just 4 of her 23 appearances. And with one guaranteed, and potentially two games remaining, the 2025 TDS Player of the Year still has room to score three and finish as the nation’s top scorer.

The highest individual award in college soccer is a deserved conclusion for a senior whose first three seasons epitomized what it means to be a selfless teammate. The California native joined the Cardinal in 2022 as a highly touted USYNT midfielder and No. 6-ranked prospect in the class. Yet after two stellar campaigns and a Pac-12 Midfielder of the Year award as a sophomore, injury issues forced the coaching staff to move Aikey to center back, a strange role she embraced as a second-team All-ACC selection. Watching the MVLA product up close, it is crystal clear how she has dominated her four years across three distinctive roles. She offers the rarest combination in the sport: an elite athlete with a highly intelligent soccer brain, technical brilliance, and ambidextrous ball-striking.
